Tarangire

Day 2-3 Tarangire National Park

This morning after breakfast you are met by our professional tour Driver-guide and depart to Tarangire National Park for a full day game drive.
The Tarangire National Park has the highest density of elephants in North Tanzania and you can view these animals all year round in which the herds often can reach an impressive number of 300 animals. The Tarangire River has water all year round and during the dry season, between July and October, many animals from the surrounding areas come to the river for drinking. If you visit the park during the dry season, you will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you can observe wonderful creatures such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests and zebras as well as various types of antelopes and gazelles and with a little luck, you can also spot a python!
Bird lovers are also rewarded during the dry season with over 550 different species including the Masai Ostrich -the world largest bird have been recorded. Around lunchtime, enjoy lunch in the park at a suitable picnic place. The afternoon is dedicated to more wildlife watching. As the sunset approaches drive to Maramboi Tented Camp located in the Minjingo Private Concession and sandwiched between Tarangire National Park and Lake Manyara,
Dinner at the camp.
The following morning enjoy a full day game viewing in Tarangire National Park.
See lions bask in the sun, zebras lap up water from a pond, and leopards dash across the savannah. As the evening approaches, drive back to Maramboi Tented Camp. Being located in a private concession the camp offers additional activities such as walking safaris and night drives.

4-5

Lake Manyara

4 - 5 Ngorongoro Conservancy via Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast we head to Lake Manyara National Park, one of the smaller but the most sought-after destination in Tanzania northern circuit. This national Park is one of Tanzania’s most dramatically located African wildlife areas, consisting of a massive but shallow soda lake (covering two-thirds of the park) at the foot of the Great Rift Valley’s western escarpment. The park’s varied habitat attracts a wide variety of animals, including one of Africa’s densely populated African elephants’ herds, Lake Manyara’s famous tree-climbing lions, as well as large flocks of flamingos, attracted by the algae in the lake. We will enjoy a picnic lunch inside the park and do two exciting morning and afternoon game drives, in search of the tree-climbing lions. Late afternoon we will drive to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge, your home for the following 2 nights and from where to explore Ngorongoro crater. The Lodge is located on the eastern side of the rim with its own easy access to the crater. Enjoy dinner at the lodge.
The following morning, it is an early start and after breakfast descend to the crater floor with your picnic lunch for a full day game drive. The crater is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations. It is one of the few places where the rare black rhino can be observed in their natural setting. As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds and other species. With a bit of luck, the ‘Big Five’ can be spotted during one game drive only.
Take a stroll on the rim of the Crater with your guide and relish sundowners with a sensational view.
In the late afternoon, drive back to the lodge for a delicious dinner with silver and crystal accompanies by carefully selected wine.

6-8

Serengeti

6 – 8 Serengeti National Park

Enjoy your last morning game drive in the Ngorongoro Conservation area before being transferred back to Manyara airstrip to connect with your schedule flight to Serengeti National Park for a spectacular thrilling game viewing

Accommodation is at andBeyond Klein’s Camp nestles in a remote region of Tanzania’s famous Serengeti National Park. Set in an exclusive private concession deep in the heart of Maasai land in the game-rich north-eastern Serengeti, Klein’s Camp reflects the spirit of wild Africa with a vintage safari style. AndBeyond Klein’s Camp is considered as one of the most strategically located wildlife sanctuaries in Africa as it overlooks the wooded hills, the fertile marshes, the rolling Savannah and the forested riverbanks of the magnificent Serengeti.

Spend your days mostly exploring the northern section of the Serengeti on safari tracking the great array of game and wildlife that this vast area offers. If you’re there at the right time for the great migration (depending on the season), this is the region where the herds are at their most concentrated because the North Serengeti forms the border with the Famous Maasai Mara of Kenya, and it’s where (if you’re lucky) you’ll see the infamous river crossings. It’s also an area of untamed natural beauty, of rolling hills, rivers, forests and open plains.

Enjoy first class Big Five game viewing, 4 x 4 Game Drives, thrilling bush walks as well as adventurous night safari drives offer guests with the unique opportunity to explore the nocturnal predators. Off-road driving gives guests a vantage point from which to view wildlife hence creating exciting photo opportunities.

Kleins Camp Guests enjoy breath-taking views of the valley which is home to large herds of wildebeest and zebra. The annual Great Migration is a highlight. However, travellers experience excellent wildlife viewing all year-round which include lion, leopard and cheetah sightings

Meal Plan: Full Board

Drinks: bottles of water, soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits and beers, teas and coffees, refreshments on lodge activities, laundry, safari activities at safari lodges

9-13

Zanzibar Beach

Day 9-13 Zanzibar Beach

This morning after one last morning game drive, wave goodbye to the vast plains of the Serengeti and its large wildlife herds – there will be time to purchase some memorabilia from the lodge curio shop before being transferred to the airstrip for your flight to Zanzibar via Dar es Salaam.

On arrival at Zanzibar airport, you will be met and transferred to Shooting Star Lodge, your home for the next 7 nights and from where you will explore the magic of the Island of Zanzibar.

Shooting Star Lodge is a small intimate accommodation beautifully located at the northern end of Kiwengwa Beach, northeast Zanzibar, well away from other resorts. It is a great contrast to some of the larger resorts that are now populating the beaches around it. Because of its location and size the hotel allows a real break and remoteness which makes it a very peaceful place to relax. This is the perfect excuse to kick off your shoes, take off your watch and gear down to the slow pace of island life: swim, snorkel, laze in the sunshine or set sail on a sunset dhow cruise. When the mood takes you there are richly coloured coral reefs waiting to be explored on scuba diving trips, and the clear waters are world-renowned for big game fishing.

14

Stone Town

Day 14 Full Day Stone Town

Today after a hearty breakfast, you will be transferred to Stone Town to experience a mesmerising mix of influences from Africa, Arabia, India and Europe; explore the local spice markets, taste local dishes and walk the cobbled streets of the capital’s old quarter Stone Town, now a World Heritage Site buzzing with colourful back-street markets.
