Arrival in the Park is around lunch time.

White rhino is particularly common, and different groups can be encountered throughout the day. Hippo, waterbuck, Burchell’s zebra and Thomson’s gazelle are common on the floodplains. Masai Mara

Day 3-4 Masai Mara

Morning Game Drive followed by breakfast and departure for the Masai Mara, Kenya’s most famous reserve. World-renowned as Kenya’s richest and densest wildlife reserve, the Maasai Mara is teeming with animals of all species. Offering superb plains scenery, unmatched safari activities and diverse wildlife, Masai Mara National Reserve is considered Kenya’s best park and one of Africa’s highest wildlife density region for predators.

Accommodation is at Olumara Camp, a year-round small tented camp located along the banks of the Olaro Orok River, on the boundary of masai Mara game reserve and Mara North conservancy, and conducts its game drives in the Masai Mara main reserve. Enjoy a refreshing Welcome drink while completing check in procedures. Settle in your room and later have lunch. Your stay is on Full Board.

Your days will be spent on morning and afternoon 4 x 4 Game drives as well as full day wildlife adventures (during the Migration period). The location, wildlife, activities and comfortable moderate climate puts Mara at the top of the list, even for the most discerning to Kenya. Masai Mara wildlife is the incarnation of nature at its best.  Depending on the travel date you may witness the Great Migrations which enters the reserve from July to October. As over a million wildebeests and thousands of zebras, elands and gazelles traverse the landscape, the peaceful savannah plains are transformed into a thunderous hub of activity. The immense herds travel to the northern grazing grounds fed by the rains and fresh pasture, and their path is marked by the dust clouds that linger in the air. The journey is wrought with dangers and obstacles, including ever-watchful lions, leopards and cheetahs crouched in the grasses and the crocodile-infested Mara River taking the front row seats of the greatest spectacle on earth!

Outside the Migration period the Mara offers year-round game viewing. The reserve and surrounding conservancies offer diverse resident species experiences during safari excursions. Expected to be seen are impalas, giraffes, elephants, zebras, buffalos, warthogs and other grazing herbivores. With so many prey animals, Masai Mara is a veritable bonanza for large predators, such as lions, cheetahs, leopards, crocodiles and other stealthy, powerful hunters. The abundance of terrestrial animals is enhanced by the presence of more than 450-winged species, including 57 birds of prey.

Following 3 magnificent days of spectacular game viewing in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, our next stop on this multi country itinerary is the visit to Tanzania iconic Northern Parks for more world class wildlife adventures.
